We are a small shop next to Saint John the Russian which sells folk art items, souvenirs and ecclesiastical accessories.
The village was created at the end of the 17th century, it is known for the sanctuary of Saint John the Russian, where the relics of the Saint are kept, which Cappadocian refugees brought with them in 1924 from Prokopi of Cappadocia in Asia Minor. In 2018, the Museum of Asia Minor Culture of New Prokopi was inaugurated. The museum keeps important relics of ecclesiastical and folklore interest, brought by refugees from Prokopi of Cappadocia.
Saint John the Russian is a Saint of the Greek Orthodox Church. As a prisoner of war first and then a slave of the Turk Aga, he became known for his kindness, humility, and solid faith. His sacred relic remains indestructible in Prokopi of Evia and he is miraculous, with many testimonies talking about the help it offers in healing patients. His memory is celebrated on May 27.
